Who We Are?
The Guitart School of Performing Arts , or TGS as we are widely known , was founded in 1993 by Nicola and Jordi Guitart , both of them working professionals at the time in this business we call Show. From a single class with 2 pupils the School slowly but surely grew , with classes being taught from St. Ives , where the School is based , to St. Neots , with all the villages in between having been host at some time to some TGS classes.
At that same time , they launched their own professional Company , Powerbeat UK , providing Cabaret entertainment and dancers for Trade and Fashion Shows all over the Country.
Both Jordi and Nicola started then to teach in all the major Full Time Colleges in this Country , and some abroad.
OUR AIMS
With over 26 years of teaching expertise , passion , care and commitment to the Performing Arts , let us welcome you to TGS.
We believe we will inspire anyone coming through our doors with creativity and discipline , but never forgetting the fun!!!!
Our vision is anything but exclusive . We embrace diversity and believe everyone without exception should be able to experience and become inspired by Performing Arts. That’s why we teach from 2 years old to young adults , all abilities always welcome!!!
When you come through our doors , you will realise that to perform at any level creativity and hard work go hand in hand. Through the years you will either just do it for fun , or will aim to do this professionally. In any case we just want you to have fun while you’re learning. You will be given the tools but what you do with them is up to you.
We are very proud to say that we have nurtured thousands of kids during these 23 years , some have become household names in the Industry , some have never tread a stage professionally , but EVERYONE has been equally important to us and it is our hope that , because of the training provided and the caring attitude we always have towards our students , they’ve become better and more confident individuals.
For those that know us , you know you are part of our family as soon as you come through our doors. We always strive to make everyone feel welcome . The depth of professional experience you get with us is second to none in our area , which makes us unique in every way.
You know you’re in good hands and will always be supported by the Guitart Team!!!
We look forward to seeing you in class.

Nicola Guitart
FounderI started as a dancer from a very young age, but took it to a serious level at the age of 16 when I joined the Bodywork Foundation Course. This then gave me the grounding to further my training for three years at “The London Studio Centre”, where I studied a variety of dance styles, singing and acting. During my time as a student I was given many teaching and choreographing opportunities because it’s a field I always saw myself going into. After graduating I was lucky enough to find work as a performer, a model and a choreographer. After marrying Jordi we decided to put together our own dance company called “Powerbeat uk” and we worked the cabaret scene as supporting artists for many famous acts. It was shortly after this that we decided to run our own dance classes and TGS was born. My love for all things dance continued to grow, but now with two small children it wasn’t as easy to travel. This is when I started developing my skills and joined the Fitness Industry. Qualifying first as an exercise to music instructor, it seemed like a natural transition. My passion for health and fitness grew and grew and in the years to follow I qualified in : Fitness Pilates, Zumba, Kettlebells, Insanity, Functional Older Adult Training, Block Fit and Float Fit. After gaining experience in Gyms and Leisure Centres I finally branched out into the community with my own classes. I love teaching in the community because people aren’t tied in to memberships or contracts, it just gives everyone a fair shot at staying fit and healthy. I also find that I know my participants much better than when I worked in the gyms. This helps us achieve more goals than ever before, plus a lot of my clients have become great friends too, which really makes for a wonderful class atmosphere. I am now in the fortunate position of being a “Master Trainer” for Block Fit and Float Fit. I have had to develop my teaching methods even further as I now train the instructors. I am blessed to be able to teach everyone from the age of 3 to 103 (and I have some that are nearly that age). Teaching is a skill, a passion and whether it be dance or fitness, it’s truly wonderful to see progress and results and watch people develop into the best version of themselves possible! -
